in my experience, after spending a lot of time hunting that Thing, I think he's got an encounter-rate of about 80%. Originally posted by BlackDragon:(As a footnote. Rather, he'll pop up as a hallway-fight - if you've done every available hallway-battle and haven't met him, he's not there and there's no point in carrying on. I don't think the Thing can appear as a 'random' encounter, the way the Collector does.
